I think that entire article is BS....and if your
parents do knw you're gay...you need to EVENTUALLY let
them know that article is nothing but conservative
propaganda.

Trust me, just by reading the first couple of pages
I knew it was bs. Specially the parts that talked about
how gay/lesbian organization are trying to recruit new
members by forcing them to come out. I have visited a
gay/lesbian group called Pridelines Youth Services here
in Miami Fl, and the it's opposite. While I was there, I
was talking the counselor, and the only person that
brought the subject of being gay was me. She even told me
that I should not come out until I felt that I was
ready.
My parents and I are going to talk again later, we'll see how that goes. |

I know this article is bs but I decided to look at
it anyway; it's highly entertaining to see what
"they" are always saying. This one took
the cake.
"These students are at risk. Being sexually active in early adolescence exposes the student to psychological stresses and sexually transmitted diseases. Many of these students are already abusing drugs and alcohol and have poor relationships with one or both parents. They often suffer from depression, anger, self-destructive behavior, and suicidal impulses. They feel alienated from classmates and often have experienced teasing or harassment." Being sexually active in early adolescence is just ridiculous. Adolescence is when the hormones start going, so, naturally, we're SUPPOSED to be sexually active. Society just has certain rules that make it so we shouldn't be sexually active in early adolescence and will be potentially embarrassed/ashamed if we are. I don't know about you, but when I was 7 and discovered the art of self-pleasuring, I didn't feel ashamed or embarrassed... except the one time my mom caught me. Many of these students are already abusing alcohol and drugs? Last time I checked--albeit not too recently--alcohol/drug use in adolescence was declining. I'd ask them for facts, but stupidity is like nuclear waste: you want to handle it carefully, and you don't want to get any on you. As for the depression and suicidal business... that comes with the territory of being a repressed adolescent. It's almost like a prerequisite. And it's people like the ones who made that site and believe in it that make gay teens depressed and suicidal. Vicious cycles are fun. I'll just close by posting the #2 reason why parents should discourage their kids from joining these gay youth groups, because it's funnier than any witty remark I could come up with: "The homosexual community is not a safe place for adolescents. In fact, it is not a safe place for adults. Alcohol abuse and illegal drug use are the norm. Sexually transmitted diseases and AIDS are epidemic. Violence and extreme sexual behaviors are common. Sexual relations between adults and adolescents are not discouraged. Prostitution, particularly adolescent prostitution, is tolerated." Actually, I have one more thing to say, since I'm sure "good," Christian folks are responsible for this website. "They use the same methods used by cults - 'We are the only ones who love you. Your parents don't understand. We are your only salvation.'" They should apply that to their own lives and wonder whether they, too, are in a cult. "The key to happiness is
self-delusion. Don't think of yourself as an organic pain
collector racing toward oblivion."
"I've never had that thought... until
now." "Don't blame me; I said
don't."

Wow that article was some of the very most special
BS. When will they learn that we just want to be
ourselves. Not gay, bi, lesbian, trans... whatever.. just
ourselves.
